LAUREL CHRISTIAN SCHOOL WELCOMES NEW HEAD OF SCHOOL

The Board of Trustees of Laurel Christian School proudly announces the appointment of Mrs. Jamie W. Rogers as the next Head of School, effective May 01, 2024.

Rogers, a Pine Belt native from Collins, is an experienced educator and administrator, with over 20 years of service in both private and public school education. She joined LCS in 2023 as the Guidance Counselor and Curriculum Coordinator, making an immediate impact.

“Having Mrs. Rogers on our staff this past year has been invaluable, and we look forward to all that God will accomplish through her as the next Head of School. We are excited that, under her leadership, LCS is poised to become an academic leader for years to come,” said Robert Fennell, President of the LCS Board of Trustees.

Prior to joining Laurel Christian School, Rogers was the “District Teacher of the Year” for Covington County Schools and served as the Principal of Collins Elementary and Assistant Principal of Taylorsville Attendance Center.  She was also the Guidance Counselor for Simpson Academy.

“I am deeply humbled and honored to serve Laurel Christian School as the incoming Head of School, combining my passion for education with my love for the Lord,” said Rogers after her appointment.  “I am committed to enhancing LCS’s long tradition of academic excellence and its dedication to nurturing students spiritually, mentally, and physically.”

Rogers received a Bachelor of Science in Business and a Master’s in Education from William Carey University in Hattiesburg.  With her extensive academic background and a sincere commitment to the Christian faith, Rogers will be able to advance the mission of excellent Christian education in Laurel.

She and her husband, Mark, have been married for 24 years and are proud parents of Katy, Anna Grace, and Andrew.  She teaches the girls’ youth Sunday school class at Leaf River Baptist Church in Collins and enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling, and reading.

Laurel Christian School is a joint ministry of Audubon Drive Bible Church and Westminster Presbyterian Church and enjoys deep support with outstanding facilities and spiritual guidance from those congregations and their pastors. They maintain a vision of Academic Distinction, Biblical Worldview, and Student Engagement as their hallmarks since 1982.
