Academically and Spiritually Prepared

At Laurel Christian School, we are dedicated to providing a Christ-centered, academically superior education that prepares students for life beyond high school. Our academic program is designed with both college and scholarship requirements in mind, ensuring that each student is equipped for success in higher education and future careers.

While academic excellence is a priority, our greater mission is to ground students in biblical truth. We aim to graduate young men and women who are spiritually strong, intellectually prepared, and ready to pursue whatever path the Lord calls them to—whether that be college, a career, or another calling.

At LCS, we believe true readiness is both academic and spiritual. We are committed to walking alongside each student as they discover their purpose and prepare for the future with confidence and faith.

ACT Readiness

At Laurel Christian School, we understand the critical role the ACT plays in college admissions, scholarship opportunities, and access to academic programs. That’s why ACT preparation is intentionally integrated into our daily classroom instruction—helping students develop the skills and thinking strategies they need in a natural, consistent way.

Our teachers are trained to incorporate ACT-style questions and techniques into their lessons, and we are committed to ongoing professional development through workshops and ACT-specific training. Preparation begins in 8th grade, with students in 8th and 9th taking the PreACT each spring. Students in grades 10–12 take the ACT on campus during the regular school week in both the fall and spring, removing barriers to access and supporting optimal performance.

We take a data-driven approach to growth. Test results are carefully analyzed by both administration and students to set personalized goals and create actionable plans for improvement.

While we prioritize academic readiness, we also recognize that college success involves more than just a test score. At LCS, we focus on developing the whole child—academically, spiritually, and emotionally—so they are fully prepared for the path God has planned for them.

Dual Credit and Enrollment

Earn College Credit While in High School — Tuition-Free

Laurel Christian School is proud to partner with Jones College to offer Dual Credit and Dual Enrollment opportunities for qualified high school students. These programs give students a valuable head start on their college education while meeting high school graduation requirements — at no cost to families.

Students may begin taking college courses starting in 11th grade, provided they meet the required ACT score and receive a recommendation from the school counselor.

  • Dual Enrollment courses are taken online through Jones College, with students traveling to campus for proctored exams.  They will earn a college credit.
  • Dual Credit courses are taught on-site at LCS by qualified instructors, allowing students to earn both high school and college credit.
