Extended Care
Extended Care is an after-school program that provides a nurturing environment for K3-6th-grade students. This service allows students to remain on campus after school dismissal until one of our convenient pick-up times. Extended Care is available to LCS preschool and elementary students.
Preschool Care (K3-K4)
Students transition to Extended Care at 11:15 a.m. The children gather for circle time to pray and prepare for lunch. Students eat lunch* and have quiet/rest time following their meal. After rest time, students are provided with a snack and engage in age-appropriate activities, including free play. Examples of activities include outdoor play, learning centers, movies, and arts and crafts.
*The Extended Care program does not provide lunch. Students may bring his/her lunch or order lunch through the Cubs' Café. Order forms are sent by email or the “Remind App” on a monthly basis for this service.
Supplies:
- Change of clothes in gallon-size bag.
- Washable nap-mat with pillow. Blanket if needed.
- Water bottle
The water bottle and nap mat will be sent home on Friday for cleaning. Please return to school on Monday.
Elementary Care (K5-6th)
Students are escorted to Extended Care by their teacher or classroom assistant at the end of the school day. Students are provided with a snack and time to relax after the school day. Students are divided by age group. Time is set aside for homework before students go outside to play (weather permitting) or engage in activities and/or indoor games.
